The Joe Rogan Experience

Joe Rogan has recorded over 390 three hour podcasts since December 2009.  The Joe Rogan Experience started off with 2 guys sitting on a couch with laptops to podcasting from a studio with the highest quality equipment. Joe is known as the Fear Factor host and UFC commentator, but Rogan has a vast knowledge in many subjects. Some of his reoccurring themes on the podcast include: comedy, martial arts, conspiracy theories, religion, healthy living, the paranormal, politics, and music. He keeps an open mind and lets his guest take control of the conversation, whether he agrees with them or not (which is very rare in most interviews you see on TV.)

Whether its shooting the shit with Bill Burr (@billburr) or delving into America’s international politics with VICE’s CEO and journalist, Shane Smith (@shanesmith30), Rogan knows how to communicate and entertain his vast audience. Before the podcast, Rogan wasn’t known as a comedian. He reiterates in every episode how awesome his fans, at his stand-up shows, have been and that some of his comedy venues have called his audiences “the nicest and most generous they’ve ever had.”  That’s saying a lot for a guy who was convincing people to choke down animal dick’s  in 2001 on Fear Factor. He has gone from 200,000 Twitter followers in 2009 to over 1,100,000 in 2013 (primarily due to his podcast.)

Rogan has also helped many aspiring comics get their name out including: Duncan Trussell (@duncantrussell), Joey Diaz (@madflavor), Ari Shaffir (arishaffir), and Bryan Callen (@bryancallen). I have rarely been disappointed in any of Rogan’s podcasts with comedians.  His producer and cameraman, Brian Redban (@redban), is always there to provide the comic relief when the conversation gets heavy. Joe will play the voice of reason when Redban doesn’t know when to keep his “goofy” thoughts to himself  (i.e. olive garden and 7 inserts) but for the most part they work together as a perfect team.

The JRE is three hours of free stand up comedy and/or an in depth conversation on miscellaneous topics. Listeners are not only treated to good conversation, but a variety of knowledge that is known by a small percentage. I barely had an interest in Jiu Jitsu (@eddiebraco), nootropics (Aubrey Marcus @warriotpoetus), and history (Dan Carlin, the best history teacher out there @hardcorehistory), until I listened to their episodes.

Rogan takes a very humanistic look at life and understands that our world is very confusing and frustrating (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTn5908m3D8) .  His free podcast is listened to all over the world and is gaining followers everyday. If you don’t take life too seriously and want to educate yourself in obscure topics, take a listen to The Joe Rogan Experience.
